Confused about who says what and when

Haven't been to a wedding in a long time and only very traditional ones in a church. I'm a bit confused with the freedom my gives me!

We are having a very basic registry office wedding ( just us and two witnesses) followed by a full friends and family ceremony a couple of weeks later.
I am confused by the vows and readings etc for both . Will the registrar provide us with basic vows to say " I do" or whatever to?
I want to do something meaningful but only at the big event.
I love the readings people have posted but who says them. If I do one, should it go before or after the vows with the celebrant?
If someone else does one, who? Bridesmaids? Someone who comes up from the audience or will they be expected to stand near the arch or whatever until I arrive?
What works best do you think?

The registrar sent us sample vows and readings and in the vows it states (place for reading) should you wish to have any.

Oh we added a Quaich ceremony between being pronounced husband and wife and signing the register.

Thank you Fluffy. Perfect.

Still don't know what to do about the "ceremony" a few weeks later. Love the readings people have put on here. We have been together years and years so our vows and readings have to include a bit of humour.

The nicest reading I saw was a contract each couple made ‘I promise not to steal your crisps,I won’t moan when you
Take too long to get ready....’ after reading the person who wrote the contract then signed it and handed it to the other.
