What did you get your DP as a wedding gift? Inspire me please.

Nothing. We thought marring each other was enough.

GetTaeBed · 22/04/2018 18:41

Nothing - a wedding and rings is surely enough!

twinkle999 · 22/04/2018 19:14

Oh right. I thought people also got each other a gift, even a small thoughtful token.

I got my dh a voucher for a food tour on honeymoon.

MamaGarl · 22/04/2018 19:17

I bought DH personalised whisky tumblers with Mr and Mrs on...

twinkle999 · 22/04/2018 19:17

@blitzen that’s a nice idea.

I didn’t mean something very costly - I just meant something he could open on the morning of the wedding and know I was thinking about him.

Presumably he’ll think that anyway? Confused

Goshitshighuphere · 22/04/2018 19:20

cufflinks?

TheYesWoman · 22/04/2018 19:21

Nothing Confused

annieannietomjoe · 22/04/2018 19:22

Watch - he got me a bike.

fiketyfookety · 22/04/2018 19:23

Just a small token gift from me-I got my husband a book called "donts for husbands" which is an amusing little book! And a leather key ring which has the longitude/latitude co-ordinates of our wedding venue inscribed on it. He was very happy Smile

Si1ver · 22/04/2018 19:24

I gave him an antique silver watch chain for his pocket watch.

SheSparkles · 22/04/2018 19:24

He got me

MachineBee · 22/04/2018 19:24

Cuff links in the shape of balloon animals. I put them in the pocket of his suit with a ribbon attached to the first button hole.

Mummy2one2016 · 22/04/2018 19:25

I got mine personalised cufflinks with wedding date on and his initials

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/04/2018 19:25

A hamster. Seriously.

Cantchooseaname · 22/04/2018 19:26

Socks... incase he got cold feet, and some whisky.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 22/04/2018 19:26

We’re getting married on May 4th. I am getting him cuff links with ‘I Love You’ on one and ‘I Know’ on the other! Grin

twinkle999 · 22/04/2018 19:27

@PurpleDaisies - with all due respect, I asked for ideas, not a debate on whether I should get something.

I think it would be a thoughtful thing to do, only on MN can you be judged for trying to be thoughtful 🙄

My husband had his best man deliver a CD player and CD to the room where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready on the morning of the wedding. The CD had all the songs that meant something to us as a couple. It was a really lovely surprise, and meant much more than if he had bought something.

twinkle999 · 22/04/2018 19:28

@LadyMonicaBaddingham not sure he’ll appreciate a hamster but it’s original!

I did a little box for him - socks and hair stuff and some bacon/tea for the morning of the wedding. Wasn't expensive but a nice little thing to do

Belliniteeny · 22/04/2018 19:29

Meaningful cufflinks. Congratulations, enjoy your day!
