A wedding that’s just about us and the kids

Second marriage for both of us; we have 4 children between us and they all get on amazingly (when not squabbling Grin )

I don’t want a big fuss, just to be married, but wondering if there is a way to have a ceremony that is just us and the kids, and make a special memory as a family. any suggestions welcomed. Don’t mind travelling, don’t want to spend too much, just hunting for inspiration at the moment Smile

Me and DP are doing this after being together for 10 years.

We have booked a holiday in Cornwall and booked the registry office for the middle day.

The DC do not know yet and they have dresses already bought at my dm's house. We plan to surprise them on the day.

My parents are coming as witnesses. No one else on either side of our families know.

The cost of the ceremony (including giving notice) and the holiday has been around £205.

The wedding/holiday is in term time(a parent's wedding is classed as an authorised absence).

That’s what I was wondering about doing that fortheLove , something along those lines. A holiday and a little ceremony with just the 6 of us (we both have huge families so it’s that or a massive wedding!)

I know the girls are excited about a special day and getting dressed up etc so I feel I have to make it a bit special for them Grin but I don’t want to spend silly amounts on just one day

Cornwall will be lovely Smile. And I didn’t know that aboht term time weddings, but I expect our exes would kick up a stink if the children missed any school

I saw something schmaltzy but quite cute in a US bride program on a beach wedding where each DC added a layer of coloured sand to a jar and it was then sealed (all very ceremonially etc) to show how you were all now 1 family.

Crear wee weddings were fab and supply, accommodation, flowers, cake, photographer, piper and witnessed as required, the local registrar was lovely. The scenery is immense you will never match that with any venue.

We had a quaich As part of our ceremony, you could all drink from that to deal your vows.
