Hi,

I have found a planned actives for the younger children (colouring, bubbles and chocolate) who are invited to the wedding but I am stuck at what to plan for the 12 yr boy attending. I do not want to leave him out as weddings are boring for children.

I do not think he will like what the younger children are getting but please correct me if I am wrong

Some Lego sets. Although you will probably find the younger ones will want some too!!

To be brutally honest ... he'll probably be fine as long as you let him keep his phone! But I've been to weddings where there is some sort of ice breaker quiz on the table and it's helped teens and adults get past the awkward small talk.

Also bubbles and chocolate not such great ideas. Bubble mixture will get all over the floor (very slippy stuff) and chocolate will also create a mess and crazy chocolate drunk children!!

Thank you for all of you help. Noting down everything you have all said

Honestly the 12 year old will probably entertain himself with phone as said. I'd imagine also that he mightn't actually want a kids activity and would prefer to be treated as a bit more of a grown up. I think around that age they like to be seen as a bit more mature.

Seconding the advice on bubbles and chocolate! The colouring sounds nice. I wouldn't get too much stuff. I immediately thought of slime, kids love it - and ime it's not as messy as it sounds - but you may not want that at the tables!

We got a small Jenga and box of board games eg snakes and ladders and had kids aged 4 to 12 there. We also had bubbles and balloons which were probably played with by all.

put him on a table where he can plug his phone in ;)
