Price of Drinks

Hi all

Can you give me a bit of perspective on the price of drinks at weddings. We are going to put some money behind the bar etc, but once it turns into a cash bar, what prices are ‘reasonable’ and what ‘extortionate’. I need some perspective before I set about my venue! I am trying to ensure my guests dont have a heart attack at a round!

We are marrying in central London, with Northern families. So what would be ok to pay for:

  • bottle of Czech lager
-bottle of craft type IPA
  • bottle of wine
  • bottle prosecco

-Single GnT

  • double GnT

Thanks!

My best estimates being a Northerner in London!

  • bottle of Czech lager
London £5, North £3

-bottle of craft type IPA
London £6, North, £4

  • bottle of wine
London - £20, North, £14
  • bottle prosecco
[No idea - don't drink it!]

-Single GnT
London £6, North £4

  • double GnT
London £8, North £5

Essentially, it's about 50% more in London I think? But then obviously wedding venues will charge a premium

Thanks- that’s helpful to gauge expectations

Hmm for a nice venue in York we were given @DerelictWreck 's Londond prices!
