How much do custom made wedding dresses cost?

There's a wedding dress I've seen that I think is the perfect one but way over budget- the dress costs £2600 whereas my budget is maximum £1400 but I'm not sure I could get a custom made dress for that? Any experience or knowledge of custom made dresses would be greatly appreciated

Have you had a look on Etsy? There are a lot of very good designers on there who make beautiful dresses and will tell you in advance how much it might be. Go to Etsy and put in "Custom wedding dress" and make sure to look in uk only.

I had mine made and it was about £400 (14 years ago mind!). Much cheaper than some of the hideous dresses in the bridal shops my mum dragged me around. Definitely worth asking a local dressmaker for a quote.

My dress is £2600. When I was deciding if I could afford it I contacted a couple of dress makers and asked if they could make something similar and the prices they quoted were the same as buying the actual dress. And they also said it would take quite a while due to nature of it.

My dress is Decklyn by Hayley Paige if you want to google. Can’t wait to wear it now.

My wedding dress was made by a local dressmaker for £1000 - I had five or six fittings, an initial toile, a lot of guidance about fabrics, and ended up with a skirt and a top I could dye and wear again. The whole experience was lovely.
