Bolero or not?! (dress pic attached)

My dress is bought and although I love it I wondered whether a tulle/lace bolero would improve it or not? I never planned on wearing a strapless dress.

It might make me more confident in the arms, shoulders and back but I don't want to make the dress too fussy! Does anyone have any experience wearing theirs that's good or bad? Any advice on a neckline that would suit?

Am planning on some kind of flower crown and veil I think, in case that's relevant.

You don't need one - your arms look great.

I wouldn’t, no. I don’t think a bolero would sit right because of the detail at the top of the dress. Looks lovely without.

NanooCov · 05/02/2018 13:05

No. I don't think the style and neckline would suit one and you look great without. I had a lace bolero with my lace dress but the neckline of mine was much more straightforward (soft sweetheart)

will it be cold?

Tequilaitmakesmestupid · 05/02/2018 15:54

No, I don't think you need one. Beautiful dress Smile

I really like the effect of a lace bolero on top and think it would look great with that dress as it is beautifully plain (ie no lace or bling). You could wear the bolero during the day then take it off for the evening do for a different effect (it looks fab without too).

I think you look beautiful without. Your arms look good. Get one if you want one, but not because you think you need a cover up.

Callamia · 05/02/2018 16:58

No! You look great. Boleros are too fussy for that dress.

Ohyesiam · 05/02/2018 17:15

No need to cover up , you look good.

Doobigetta · 05/02/2018 20:47

Not a bolero. When is the wedding? Do you need something to keep you warm?

cravingcake · 06/02/2018 05:19

Wouldn’t bother with a bolero, but have you tried veils on with it? You could have one that has a couple of tiers and would cover your back and tops of arms just enough to help you feel more confident.

Thanks for the feedback! You're very kind. I was thinking something like this....

Even with that, you’d lose the detail on the bodice. It’s beautiful and beautiful on you!

mellongoose · 06/02/2018 08:05

Cravingcake that's my other option! Decisions, decisions.

My dress is quite similar and I'm having a long veil with a lace trim (similar to what I have on my dress). Having said that, for the evening, I'm after a Kate Middleton style fluffy cardigan, but I can't find one anywhere.
You look great in the dress, by the way!
