Veils

Nearly spent my budget but I've suddenly got my heart set on a veil.
Where can I get a nice veil that isn't very expensive.
I stupidly bought one on ebay but it feels cheap and I feel like a right idiot for buying it.

I got a beautiful veil made exactly as I wanted from Etsy, definitely worth looking on there.

Do you have any married friends that would lend you theirs as your 'something borrowed?'

My only married friends near me didnt use a veil.
Will look at esty, think part of my issue is I don't know what material it should be!

What material is your dress?

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/12/2017 20:12

I made mine. Bought some pretty light veil material from a local haberdashers shop and a sparkly comb from boots and sewed them together with some fishing wire thread.

Oh I couldn't make my own. I'm rubbish at that sort of thing! Haha

My dress has a tulle layers

I had a beautiful cathedral veil which I found on Gumtree. I had bought two fingertip length ones on ebay, but they weren't quite right. However, going into a bridal shop cured me of my concerns about cheap Chinese knock offs - the £80 veils there were of no better quality.

Seriously, no one can tell.

I am the least creative person ever. I am not a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination, but I made my own. It really was very easy.

You say friends haven't had veils recently, but do you have older colleagues or Aunts etc you might borrow from ? "Back in the day" a lot more people wore veils. I'd be delighted to lend mine to a friend colleague / niece getting married.

A friend of mine got one on eBay I believe for not very much money and I would never have been able to tell it didn't cost loads!

I bought a cheap veil from eBay and ended up paying£180 for a beautiful silk one. I loved it and sol it on eBay for £30 so worth searching for what you want. Net will never hang as nicely as silk.
