I got married in Canada (Banff) and it was the best decision we made.

BumbleNova · 17/10/2017 15:10

sorry? presuming you are both divorced? surely anywhere?

thegoodnameshadgone · 17/10/2017 17:53

No bumble, some places won’t marry you if you have been married previously

the UK is probably a good start

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 17/10/2017 17:57

Any Methodist chapel in the uk will usually marry you.

blueskyinmarch · 17/10/2017 17:59

I was going to suggest the UK too. Is there a reason you are counting that out?

ineedamoreadultieradult · 17/10/2017 18:00

Lots, it might be easier to ask where can't you get married.

thegoodnameshadgone · 18/10/2017 10:45

Ineedamoreadultirradult - any suggestions please?

What country are you in that you can’t?

TotallyConkers · 18/10/2017 10:50

Would be easier to know what country you are in now and people can then suggest ones suitably close by.

thegoodnameshadgone · 18/10/2017 11:11

We are in the uk. We’d like to get married abroad.

I’ve been advised Greece will only marry you in a chapel and the travel absent wasn’t sure if we could get married in a chapel. Portugal only offers a non legal service.

I don’t personally want to get married in Mexico or the Caribbean or America.

I would like a wedding in a nice hotel that’s all inclusive.

Thanks in advance xx

Shame as there are lots of very nice hotels that are AI in Mexico, Caribbean and the USA. So is it that you want a nice hotel with AI in Europe that has a license to marry you?

TotallyConkers · 18/10/2017 11:30

In the uk government website about getting married abroad you can do a short quiz on which country you want to do this in and whether it is recognised and what docs you need etc. www.gov.uk/marriage-abroad/

Put in the countries you want then google holidays or hotels to see which ones you like.

thegoodnameshadgone · 18/10/2017 11:32

Thanks totallyconkers I will try this

If you are looking for a Mediterranean wedding, then I think Cyprus, Malta or Italy would be ok. Probably easiest to arrange in Cyprus as weddings are big business there.

know you said you dont want to get married in mexico, but our wedding is in a gorgeous AI hotel there next feb, FH has been married before and theres no issue with it, we just have to provide a copy of his divorce decree to the minister.
