Nerves on a grand scale

Our wedding is in 5 weeks. Every time I think about it now I get palpitations/stomach knots. I'm an extremely anxious person anyway but dear god I'm petrified!! It's the whole everyone staring at me and the "what ifs".

What if I'm so nervous:
I can't get my words out..
I have a panic attack...
I embarrass myself...
Etc etc

I've had cbt I don't and can't take anxiety medication.

Have you tried talking to some friends/family members who have been married. They could probably reassure you that it's not as scary as you imagine. Do you know your vows, you could practice. Just remember that your guests are there to support you, so try not to worry. It doesn't last long and you'll be celebrating and partying before you know it. Good luck on your big day.

If it makes you feel any better, I suffer from anxiety and had a mini panic attack at the top of the stairs from my 'aisle.'

During my vows, I couldn't get my words out properly and kept giggling. I even rushed out one sentence so much the registrar went 'that was quick. Grin'

Nobody thought any less of me for it, and they in fact laughed with me.

Hope you're feeling better chame!

My wedding is in less than a fortnight now and, despite being normally incredibly relaxed, I am completely freaking out so feel your pain!

It's a scary thing to think about everyone looking at you (my main panic is "what if they all think I look awful and whisper behind my back about my dress" Hmm) but just try and remember that as long as you marry the person of your dreams and all your loved ones are there to celebrate it then that's all that matters. Good luck!!! Flowers
