Have posted in chat but going to try here as well as I know this has already been discussed on this topic before by people in the same predicament as me!

Wondering what people's experiences were who have used norethisterone. I get married at the start of October and typically my clockwork period is due to start on the day of my wedding angry. I've read mixed reviews about these pills and some of the side effects don't seem pleasant so I don't really want to take them in October and end up a hormonal mess on my wedding day. I'm wanting to take these either in August or September in the hope that this will change the dates of my cycle. Just want to check that these tablets do this and your cycle doesn't go back to its 'normal' pattern?

PinkDucks I have just done what you are suggesting. I got severe pms with it so glad I tried cycle before and not my 'wedding' cycle. I think from what I've read that they should work like you suggest but someone with more knowledge will hopefully reply soon. I will let you know how I get on. My last period was certainly delayed successfully so I'm hoping the next cycle will follow from that with period arriving well after wedding day! I'll let you know for sure in 2 weeks!

That's my fear and I don't want to feel like a hormonal wreck on my wedding day (think I'd rather deal with the period!) so don't want to risk taking them to delay that period. But if they don't alter my cycle there's no point me taking them the month before either. Good luck - hope they have done the trick for you! Definitely let me know how you get on and enjoy your wedding Smile

Ah glad it's not just me - such a pain isn't it. Someone helpfully told me I should have planned the date of our wedding better to avoid this situation Hmm. Funnily when I chose the date about 2yrs ago I didn't take this into consideration! Off the speak with the GP today.
