Using vintage diamond in engagement ring?

Hi,
I have an old diamond ring of my gran's that I would like to use the diamond for in my engagement ring (just proposed)
I would like a platinum band in a bezel setting (so fairly plain)- would a local jeweler be fine for this, or does anyone recommend somewhere?

Nearest big town is Sheffield, if that helps.

There are plenty of jewellers in Sheffield who would be able to make a ring of your choice. There is a lovely jewellers on Abbeydale Road called Tiago and they would design and make a ring exactly to your specification. My best friend has just had a ring designed there and it is gorgeous

I will check out the shop in Sheffield- it looks great. There is also a shop in the town that might make stuff so i will speak to them too
