Favours for under 16s when adults are getting scratch cards?

I think I come across as a journo or am at least a ninja thread killer but hoping for some ideas, please! We are doing envelopes with scratch cards in as favours / place markers, and thinking we should give the under 16s something else as they are not allowed to buy scratchcards. But can't think of anything that costs £1 or less and could go in an envelope. Is anyone doing similar? Would scratchcards be a fun thing for the kids (all ages) or would it be uncomfortable? (Apologies in advance for slow replies, I can't remember my password so can't get in on my phone, just my home computer.)

Yes, they are.

I'd do scratch cards for the older of the kids, (ones who can read what they have to do and won't just scratch off everything).
Not sure about younger kids though.

What age exactly? My children, age 5-9 are very into Pokémon cards. You'd need to split a pack.

Scratch cards are fine for kids from about 3 upwards.

What's wrong with a packet of love hearts in a prettty bag for every age.
Scratch cards are not really in the spirit of a wedding.

AndNow I have been to a few weddings with scratchcards. It was fun, and generous, which is quite wedding-spirited imo. Interesting to hear your pov though.

I'm surprised scratch cards have become a thing at weddings .
There is something a bit unsavoury about it, I'm not sure I can put my finger on it. I suppose some guests might be offended at the gambling aspect of it, I have some very religious family members that it wouldn't go down with well at all.
Anyway that's not your question.
I'd give the children sweets.

FilledSoda I completely agree that it would be unkind and wrong to give a scratch card to someone whose religion did not permit gambling.

If you felt like giving yourself lots of extra work you could set up a treasure hunt in or around the venue? Nothing immediately visible as you sit down but something like two sets of clues (pictures for littles and rhymes for older ones) printed in a different order for each table which lead to laminated letters which spell out something weddingy, with a bridesmaid tasked to hold sweets whigh hunters get once they tell her the word. As I said, lots of extra work

I think scratch cards are a great idea and much better than tat that gets left behind!
