Wedding in France

We are in the very early stages of planning our wedding and have settled on France as our destination, however I want a big chateau type wedding but OH doesn't want to share accommodation with guests. Has anyone been to or had a wedding at a chateau where you don't have to stay there too?

Having recently looked at venues in the same location, my first thought is that you would actually have more choice in doing this.

We wanted a certain number of rooms on site which massively limited places that we could look at.

A decent wedding planner can work wonders for finding hidden gems.
