I'm getting married at the end of July. Ita a very small wedding just myself and DP and 6 guests in a registry office. We are then having a party afterwards.

The problem I'm having is finding a dress. I'm not looking for a "traditional" wedding dress, I would love a short/casual dress to wear. Does anybody who chose a more casual dress have any recommendations?

I'm only 5 foot tall and a size 6 so I need something fitted so I don't look like I'm playing dress up 😊

My wedding dress came from Wed2B which is very reasonable, has lots of sizes and styles. Mine is very casual and not your typical meringue. Worth a try!

Have a look at Lindy Bop or Honey Pie Biutique. They do 50s swing style dresses that aren't overly formal.

Collectif also have some nice nontraditional but wedding appropriate dresses, depending on how far from traditional you wanted to venture.

ASOS have some lovely white dresses. A lot of high street stores (including TopShop and Dorothy Perkins) have also released their own wedding ranges that are a lot more relaxed and informal.

I'm getting married abroad in August and have bought a white bridesmaid dress...so much cheaper, less fussy and less bridal. Have a look at the bridesmaid ranges online of various sites (mine is Mori Lee) - they almost always come in white/ivory and there are short ones too.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. It's given me a lot more ideas.

If you haven't already picked, I'd recommend frock and frill. Some lovely dresses on there that aren't 'bridal' especially but still beautiful

I also didn't want the big wedding dress thing as ours was a registry office wedding and i was lucky enough to find a cream shift dress half price in Reiss ...£90 down from £180. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a dress i'd only wear once and this on the knee dress was ideal. I wore cream wedge heels with it. Congratulations and good luck!
