Has anyone eloped to Vegas? We're starting to plan and I'd love to hear some stories and tips!

My best friend did exactly that to aboid fanily members.

She was a few weeks pregnant at the time Wink

We found out afterwards & were so pleased for them. She said it was incredibly easy, they didn't feel like they were on a conveyer belt at all. They have no regrets at all. She took a simple wedding dress with her & the ceremony was at 6pm. Just the 2 of them & 1 random witness I think.

Congratulations to you on your engagement!

Congratulations.

Will your family cope ok if they don't get to see you married?

Went to a wedding at the Little Chapel of the flowers as a witness. They did it to avoid family arguments etc etc & had their honeymoon there afterwards. There was a stream of the event, which they sent to people 10 minutes before the event. Was fantastic Smile

We got married in Vegas, not strictly an elopement as had 4 guests and it wasn't a surprise.

But i enjoyed planning it! We were married at the Mandarin Oriental in the bar that overlooks the strip, then Elvis picked us up in his pink caddy and took us to our suite at the Cosmopolitan which has a massive balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains, where we had our buffet and drinks. Then my husband and I walked round the strip in our wedding gear and enjoyed all the congratulations!

Me Me!

Got a limo from our suite at Bellagio, to the drive through wedding tunnel at Little White Chapel. Did our vows out of the sunroof, high fived the priest and headed back to the casino and whacked $500 on roulette black. It was red GrinGrin

Left the kids with mum at home, just me and DH for 6 days.

Was AMAZING and even with ridiculous spending it cost less that £8k for the entire 6 days which is a fraction of what my first big white wedding cost.

Do it.

Me too. Second marriage for us both with older children so thought why not?.
Stayed at the Bellagio and had our wedding at chapel of the flowers. Had such a wonderful day - no fuss and no regretsSmile

Oops forgot to say that we told no one!

WallisFrizz · 21/01/2017 17:25

I'm so jealous. My first fiancée Blush and I planned a wedding at the Bellagio. We split up before it happened but it would have been amazing. I ended up getting married locally in a church with 10 month old DS present to now DH, it was a wonderful day but a Vegas wedding...wow.

Littleballerina · 23/01/2017 09:49

we want to do Vegas but we would take the children and move on elsewhere afterwards so not sure how it would work.

Ah responses! Hadn't realised - will read them all and reply - not ignoring you!

Yes family on board as they understand our reasons

We're moving straight on to the honeymoon in the states for a few weeks and then home for a big reception / wedding party with lots of friends and family!
