Find me somewhere to elope please?!

Right, me and the OH had a big fancy country house wedding planned. All deposits paid, but now it comes to actually paying it off we have decided that's not what we want at all. We want to elope, either just us and our 3 kids, or us and parents which would make 14.
We live in Devon so we would look at anywhere here or Cornwall/Somerset and it has to be by the sea. We are going to look at ocean Kave but just wondered if anyone knew of anywhere else?
Oh and any tips on how to tell my bridesmaid that we will be having a party when we get back and she can wear her pretty dress there without her hating me would be lovely, thank you!

Tell your BM that's its not a big do now so no BM at all. We having a party so you've got a dress for that. You love her but things have changed.

Dorset rather than Cornwall, but can rent out Studland Bay House for a big house party by the sea if that grabs you? Perfect for 14 and so beautiful...

Look at Lower barns in Cornwall and Millbrook in Devon.

Not on the sea but we eloped to the green in Cornwall and went to the beach after. Just as and it was very relaxing. Have fun!

Millbrook said they have no accommodation for 5 only 4 so we are looking at lower barns. I am just looking at the green now, it looks lovely!

The green were cheaper than millbrook and they did everything was very stress-free. Good luck and have a lovely time.

Hi there

Im new to mumsnet so i apologise in advance if im posting on someones thread thats nots not allowed!

Me + fiance are holidaying in cornwall in may and currently looking into getting married at Truro registry office while we away. Will only be us, my mum + my 4yr old daughter, which means only my mum can be a witness.

Really dontbwant to risk finding a witness on the day so was wondering how i would go about finding someone to be our other witness who lives near truro registry office that can spare half an hour for us on the day?? Would much rather have something guaranteed from somebody who would love to do this for someone :-)
