DP and I finally think we have found an idea we like, which would be to have our civil (legal) ceremony at home followed by a wedding weekend with symbolic ceremony at a big house in the South of France, with most people staying on site or nearby. Has anyone done this? How did it work out? We were thinking Friday arrival. Relaxed Saturday with activities, lunch then dressing for the wedding, late afternoon ceremony going into reception and dinner. Sunday brunch, guests disperse. Guests will be coming from various places in Europe and some from the Antipodes (we would make sure we didn't just abandon them afterwards).
