Hippy / bohemian wedding

Hi

So the man has asked. It's both our second weddings, so the whole big white wedding with matching tea plates in the hotel isn't what we want this time

I'm very bonhemian- have been called hippy several times and that will never be an insult to me.

We would love a woodland wedding with any spiritual/ ethic / boho infkuence we can get in.

The only downside is that I'd also love either an Autumn or Xmas wedding, which may bugger up the woodland idea.

We are in the Midlands but happy to travel. Small, intimate, informal, personal is what we're after.

Please can anyone donate any ideas? Thank you.

Congratulations!
If you and your guests are willing to travel, you could look at having a hand fasting ceremony in Scotland where they are legal.
Or try to find a venue that has an arbour in the grounds so you can actually be married outside.

ooh an arbour is an amazing idea.

I'll have a look now. Thank you so much x

I think there are some old barns which are licensed for weddings. Or you could maybe have a tipi or yurt in the woodland setting.

Or I think there are a couple of treehouse a licensed for weddings.

There's a treehouse that's licensed in Devon near us, it looks gorgeous! Deer park country hotel.

There is also a treehouse at Alnwick Castle. I loved it but way beyond our price range.

If you're Birmingham based and don't want a large wedding the kitchen garden cafe is a gorgeous place to get married - and they do great food as well. They have a courtyard garden but it's like a barn inside.

Old barn, hog roast decent folk band. This is what I did Grin hippy dress from monsoon and a headband Grin

My only 'regret' was that I wanted a folky wedding in a Forrest type place but being in the UK there are laws about building so I married in a local hall from the 1600's.

In hindsite I would have asked a friend / professional to conduct a hippyish ceremony in a Forrest / or on a beach which i would see as real wedding and tie it up 'officially in a registry office either first thing in the morning or the next day
