Cheap venue/ registry office

Does anyone know of any pretty but cheap wedding venues or registry offices. Looking to get married with just me and OH (and maybe dog as well!) There.

We booked the cheapest room at our registry office. Think it was about £45. Was very nice, us, our DC and the two witnesses.

That sounds lovely a low stress was it in a pretty place?

Yes, it was a formal old fashioned building so felt very posh. We also had to cancel the original date due to DC illness so rearranged it for the following week with zero hassle. Can't see that happening with many other venues!

I think all registry offices have to provide a basic room where you can married with your 2 witnesses very cheaply.

I think they can then charge what they want for a larger room in order to accommodate your guests...

Cardiff Register office is in City Hall which is beautiful, though I haven't been in the room which is for couple + up to 4 guests and is £46. I've just been to a wedding at Plymouth registry office (again they offer the actual office for £45) and though the building wasn't much, they had a pretty garden and it was a very short walk to the seafront.

We got married in Bakewell registry office. It is a lovely old stone building in a pretty town in the Peak District. I can't comment on price as it was 16 years ago, but then in was less than £40. In fact I'm not sure we paid for the venue at all.
