Wedding venue (not function room or stately home)

Hi mumsnetters,

Please can you help... I am looking for a wedding venue that has got a good atmosphere but is not too traditional (but still romantic). And a few rooms to stay in. Everywhere I've looked at has been too small or a function room at the back. I'm googling myself insane!!

Pubs/ warehouses/ anywhere with log fires and candles would be perfect

We are hoping for a small ceremony (30) and meal and speeches for 100. In winter.
Anywhere from London to the Midlands

A friend of a friend just got married at the Custard Factory in Birmingham. Their do looked a a bit sparse (feel bad saying that but it was!) but there's a lot of potential there if you look at the marketing pics. Also obvs loads of places for guests to stay as you're in the middle of everything, very different to your average country house do!

We got married at the youth hostel in Hartington in Derbyshire. Really lovely. Loads of rooms but no function room!

Thorn bridge Hall in Gt Longstone might suit you ? Or take over the dining room at the Monsal Head pub up the road?

In Warwick. It is a traditional setting, but you could have a very unique wedding there and one to remember.

Same as mistyegg- caswell house is beautiful and the first thing that came to mind.

A friend got married in Sutton House in London. It is a stately "home" but it's really the size of a house not a stately home and felt very cozy. Main room pictured seats about 30. I think they also can "join" a couple of rooms and the smallest holds about 15? They did a drinks/croissants gathering in the courtyard as it was in the summer and then we all went to a nearby pub by Victoria Park. There's 3-4 Gastropubs around he park and I can't recall the name of where we went as it was some years back. Just 5-10 min down the road depending on traffic but I know you can hire them out completely and are picturesque with fire, etches sometimes they were closed for weddings when we passed by. About 10-15 min by taxi, there's also The Gun which is right on the Thames. Never had a bad meal there.

The Royal college of surgeons in holborn is pretty nice. The bed rooms are functional not fancy. Bit travellodge but the venue is nice.

Or tower bridge? No where to sleep but a cool venue.
