Songs for church service! Help???

Hi, please help!! What songs/music did yous play at your wedding?
H2b and I have struggled for months to come up with a first dance song and church entrance song, finally chose only to meet with vicar and be told we also need 3 songs for signing register plus one to leave.
Haven't a clue for register signing but really want something modern, upbeat and unpredictable for leaving. Thanks in advance ladies!!

Church entrance and exit is usually done to non-vocal organ music rather than a song.
I went to a wedding once where the music that played as the happy couple left the church was the theme from Monty Python's Flying Circus.
If you want the congregation to be singing a hymn then there's a lovely one that has a great modern and lively tune that goes
You shall go out with joy
and be led forth with peace
... which is a great end to a church wedding but how many of the people there will be regular church goers who you can count on to sing confidently? If there won't be many you need to focus on the question of what songs lots of people will know.

Did the vicar have any rules? Some would not been keen on pop type songs in church. It's a church service with organ so not sure how much unpredictable you can get!

No the vicar has no rules whatsoever.. In his words "anything goes" . I really expected to have an organist but he told us theirs in getting a bit old and struggles so they keep her away from weddings :/
Weve been told just to use CDs

Who will be performing the songs?

An organist? Pianist? Choir ? Music Group ? Guest artist?
(If so what are their abilities / strengths?)

If it's Church musicians, they'll probably be very willing to make some suggestions.
If you are asking them to sing something - it might not sound how you want.

Or are you putting a CD on?

There's no musicians just all CDs. I thought this would be the easy part... How wrong!

Are you religious? There are some fabulous songs and hymns out there is you want something personal.

We had an instrumental from a film score to walk in to, and Better Together by Jack Johnson to leave to. Four hymns during.
