What time to get married?

Just trying to work out what time of day is best to get married. We're going to be a small group - just two kids (ours) and two witnesses! Doing it in a hotel so we will probably do canapés and a meal and will need a bit of time for photos but probably not much as it surely won't take that long.

Can't really imagine how the day will work out - am thinking after lunch but what will we do all morning as have kids to entertain...?

When have other people got married? Any opinions?

Had our civil ceremony at 1 and afterwards went for a late lunch.

Had our beach ceremony at 7 pm in the canaries and went smoothly into the evening. Was amazing.

We got married at 2.30. Canapés & champers for tea then a meal at 8.00pm. It was just us 3 dh,ds & me in barbados.

We got married at 3pm because it was waaaay too hot earlier in the day...but now I wish we had just dealt with the heat and got married earlier because our reception seemed to be over too quick (food at 5pm, Dj booked until midnight)

We got married at 3pm which was perfect for us. Plenty of time to get ready in the morning without dashing about. Wasn't too long a day for the multiple children (ours and guests'), was clear that only one meal would be served so nobody starving. And not too long in the spotlight for dh and I.

fearsomepixie that's one thing I will agree with you on about the 3pm wedding....bags of time to get ready without flapping and rushing!!
