Wedding RSVP

I haven't been to a wedding for ages so can't remember whether people put a date down to RSVP? I can't invite as many people as I would like to so if someone can't come I would like to invite someone else, but with enough notice for them. Any experience of this?

Yep

Absolutely put an RSVP date on. Give guests a month after sending out the invite, chase a fortnight later, then hopefully you'll still have time to invite new guests without them feeling like they're being upgraded.

Yes - just put RSVP by..... and actually don't give too long for them to do it - most people either can or they can't, and giving them an extra month won't help, it will just put them into relaxed mode and they'll forget. The odd exception who is waiting for some other detail to fall into place can always phone you and ask for a bit longer Smile

yep. we gave a month/6 weeks to RSVP. We also sent RSVP cards and envelopes with our addresses on our with our invitations. No excuses for not responding.

We didn't do an RSVP date and lived to regret it!
