I'm hoping for some advice for wording on writing a thank you note for a guest who attended my wedding who I really dislike. A bit of a googling for inspiration has thrown up lots of websites about how to write a thank you note for a gift that you dislike; but whilst I don't actually like the gift that's certainly not the issue- I really dislike this person and am struggling to think of what to write in the thank you card beyond "thank you for attending the wedding and thank you for the gift". Would it be rude to just write this?
There is a backstory of unpleasant behaviour by this person prior to the wedding, and on the day she thought it appropriate to wear an all white dress
which, rightly or wrongly, bothered me as I felt it was a very attention grabbing outfit which I think is inappropriate on someone else's wedding day. I am really struggling to be gracious- help!
PS. said person is a relative, which is why they had to be invited to the wedding.
