Pregnant bridesmaid & dresses

Hi all,

I've recently found out one of my bridesmaids is pregnant. Her baby is due a few months before our wedding but I'm wondering what to do in terms of dresses. Obviously her size will change with the pregnancy and will continue to change after giving birth so I'm wondering when would be best to sort out dresses? We were going to order them online custom made (much cheaper) but that means we can't easily get them altered without having to find a seamstress.

Must you have all the same dress? Could you go with a signature colour so that she can get hers nearer the time and so that she can get one that she feels suits her body (and that she can breastfeed in if that's her choice)?

No I couldn't care less if they both wear the same. That's a good idea actually, if I sort out my other bridesmaid's and then we can sort out hers much closer to the day. She did like the one we were going to get but yeah we can either get the same one much closer to the time (if she still wishes) or we could go shopping much nearer the time for a more breast feeding friendly one :)

I was a bridesmaid 4 months after giving birth. We bought our dresses when I was about 20 weeks pregnant which worked out fine. I actually just had my normal size.

I think good plan to wait. Six months after giving birth my rib cage still hasnt gone back, and my boobs are still inflated, so though I'm not 'fat' none of my old dresses fit (boohoo). It would make me feel really crappy knowing there was a beautiful dress in the cupboard that despite my best efforts I just can't get into.

One of my bridesmaids is pregnant (yay ) and her baby is due a couple of months before our wedding. I have spoken to her and asked her what she wants to do about dresses.

I am really not bothered what my bridesmaids wear as long as they are comfy, co-ordinated to a degree and wear something that they will wear again.

She has said that she would get a size bigger than she is normally and diet like buggery to get into her dress! I raised an eyebrow... I wouldn't put that pressure on her, and she knows it.

(I'm more excited about the baby than the wedding )

Just read my previous post...I am very excited and can't wait to marry my gorgeous DP, but I just can't wait to meet my new niece/nephew!
