when do i book the reservation and pay the deposit ??

help please total newbie getting married in 2016 have a budget of 5K max and need to start booking/buying things and making payments but not sure where to start

First of all look at the venue, will you have a church , registry or civil wedding?

next would be the registra booking fees (in my experience as having a civil wedding )

we are having a hotel wedding and reception just unsure of how soon in advance you can book your date

We are getting married at a hotel , we booked the date and paid the deposit 19 months in advance ! same for the registrar , I think we had to pay 75pound for the registrar booking fee and then the rest is to be paid Atleast a month before the wedding date .

bare in mind, exact fees for registrar won't be put until March the year before . But you can still book and pay the 75 fee !

If you are planning to get wedding insurance then make sure you do that before you pay out any large sums.

ill phone up the hotel and ask what dates are avaiable and what payment plan they do too pay it all up until the wedding day then also got to get quotes for the cake

its not too soon to get the date and time you want. I booked the registrar about 20 months in advance and had to have my second choice date to get the time I wanted!

We are having a church wedding and doing the reception ourselves at the end of 2015, apart from booking the venues we haven't done much else. So get the booking down on paper with the hotel then chill out for a while!!

We booked ours 19 months in advance and had the choice of 10 am , 12 pm or 4 PM. Ideally I would have liked 2 PM !
