How soon is too soon to send invitations?

Wedding is in the Spring, most websites seem to think 6/8 weeks before the date is acceptable - this seems way too last minute for me!

What would you do?

Tell people the date now and invites with full into three months before.

I think I'd like to have numbers in place by three months prior, but I guess in this day and age people are in contact throughout the whike process anyway.

I just hate last minute stuff!

Hey you could always get save the date cards as it says on them invites to follow just so people have a good idea when it is and book time instead off last minute wedding invites

I set a wedding website which has all the information on it so I have let all my guests know the date really early. I can keep updating and adding to it as well. I made mine with weddinghand.co.uk. its great, easy and FREE!!!! Oh its good for pre wedding photos too!!!
