Advice needed to avoid potential faux pas pls...

Am going to a wedding as a guest (originally as a bridesmaid but got 'fired'. That's a whole other story!). Anyhoo, am taking 2 yr old DD with me and would rather not have to buy her a new outfit.
The party dress she currently has is white, pouffey, and has pinky coloured rosebuds and sash. Is this too flower-girly (I know there'll be flower girls but don't know what they'll be wearing) or does it really not matter considering she's only 2?
Am a bit anxious/paranoid not to look like I'm trying to upstage or step on anyones toes given the bridesmaid saga.

Can you ditch the sash, and put on a cardi which isn't bridemaid colours (do you know what these are?)
Then she isn't going to look like them.

Sash is 'built in'. She doesn't really have many dresses, she's more of a jeans and hoody kinda girl! She also only has a pair of grubby white sandals or trainers with flashing lights for footwear. Very narrow feet so cheapo pumps not an option. Scrubbing the sandals this weekend.

May be she ends up in a sack - I refuse to spend £££s on an outfit which will get worn once or twice (for her anyway, I have rules of my own!).

I think it's fine. Anyone who got cross with what a two year old wore would be being super bridezilla IMO. I think it's grown ups who have to be careful they could not mistaken for the bride/bridesmaids not tinies. She will look super cute.

I would buy her something pretty and inexpensive from Primark. You have already been fired there will be people who may interpret what you have described as a flower girl dress and attribute malicious motives to you.

There's already 'tension' clearly if you have been #sacked# from being bridesmaid. It would look bad if your then turn up with your child dressed like a bridesmaid (even in colours that don't match this particular wedding). I'd go with a simple dress from somewhere like Primark, or take catlady up on her kind offer.

Thanks everyone else too - even though I'm a little bitter at bridezilla, it is her big day and I don't want to be the cause of any upset.

I was fired for not attending hair trials and hen do, even though I live 500 miles away and couldn't afford multiple trips on top of the wedding (which is costing a lot to attend - hence not wanting to blow extra on outfits). Just for the record, this is her second wedding - I was bridesmaid first time round but lived just down the road then. She was my bridesmaid too. Feeling a little sad about it all, but wanting to be the bigger person and just go with it.
