Ideas for wedding gifts on a budget!!

I have 3 weddings to go to this summer and am struggling with gift ideas, am a lone parent and my budget will be about £20 max for each wedding.

Any ideas?

I always think a sterling silver frame makes a lovely present you can get good ones on eBay with a bit of perseverance.

I was going to suggest a rummage in TKMaxx housewares, but I love those Rob Ryan mugs. I have sometimes bought initial mugs of the couples' initials as wedding presents.

Otherwise nice photo frames are a bit of a cliche but very useful for displaying photos after the wedding

If they are getting married in an old church or landmark building, look on eBay for a vintage postcard or picture of the venue, find a nice frame and you have a thoughtful, individual present

The mugs in the first link are lovely, I'd be tempted to buy them. For another idea, Jo Malone travel candles are a nice gift, and they come gift wrapped with a free matchbook. I love a matchbook.

When I was a single parent in the same fix, I went to poundland and bought a washing up bowl, kitchen cloths, pan scrubbers, washing up brush, pegs, peg basket, and lots of bits like that, bought some lovely clear wrapping and ribbons and wrapped it up adding some smelly candles and potpourri. It looked lovely, wasnt expensive and was much appreciated as the bride and groom were just starting out and it was the little things they really needed.

You could also think about buying a tree, if any of the couples have a garden? We got a little acer tree for our wedding,it's beautiful. There won't be a huge choice for £20, but there will be something nice, maybe a fruit tree or bush.

Could you make a hamper? Some very easy and chap home made food/treats.

For a wedding before, we did a hamper with nice snacky food and I gt a double frame with heart shaped pic 'spaces' and I put parts of the map in each space- one where the church is, and one their venue. Notinthehighstreet do similar- and I was chuffed havin an individual idea!! Haha they loved it anyway it's displayed on their tv :)

We could also try gifting them a personalized poster that captures the best moments in their lives. These moments could be a childhood pic of each of them or a moment they spent together.

Something we received that we just loved was a 'honeymoon basket' that was really cool. It had champagne and glasses, some cheese and crackers and other snacks, and to spice things up it also had lubrication, a Joy of Sex book, and lingerie. It was kind of racy, but a fun gift to receive. It could be done fairly inexpensively as well.

Also, it's kind of funny, but one of the 'gifts' we still use wasn't a gift at all, but some glasses we used as wedding favors - www.bestdayweddingfavors.com. We had some extras and they are still in our cupboard and we drink out of them often.

As I had mentioned in the above post about gifting Personalized Poster art prints, I found another beautiful website that creates such posters according to our requirement. It was my sisters wedding, and I placed an order from MykeCo. I asked them to print the skylines of Kansas as there is where my sister met her love. I also got their names and their wedding date printed on it. Trust me, she loved it and said the it was the most special gift she received at her wedding. I got a friend a set of heart Le Crueset ramekins with lids from TK Maxx £8 each. Nice box and tissue paper - done.

talking from experience of getting married last year and ending up with a load of 'decorative' C**P that i still have no idea what to do with, plus going to a few weddings myself this year, my top tip is cutlery sets. Homebase/Argos do nice ones and for £20 a pop you can get a half decent set. Even in our house we have a myserious place that butter knives go to. Probably starting a battle royale with all the lost socks....

or do a cheap little present and a £10 homebase/argos voucher, then they can get something themselves?
