Custom made bridesmaid dresses

I need your help!

My bridesmaids are all very different shapes and I want them to feel amazing on the day. I thought it would be sensible to get custom made dresses, same colour, material and length but different cuts to suit there body.

Has anyone got any advice or websites as to where I can get them. I have seen a few on eBay , has anyone used these? I have around £60-70 pp for a dress, but obviously cheaper the better!

Thanks!

I had my bridesmaids dresses made in the same fabric at a local bridal shop, to suiting patterns, but it cost about 4 times your budget.

I've heard good things about Chinese manufacturers on the web, and ther are much cheaper, but I didn't want to risk it myself.

If you can find a local seamstress you could talk to her about making the dress and if you buy the material you'd probably be fine. (I'm sure I paid way over the odds, but at that point I was losing the will to get married).

My sister is having our bridesmaids dresses made, her dressmaker is amazing, but in Dublin, so I'm guessing not much use to you. Sister is paying about ?700 per dress, but I'm sure it can be done for much less (I will certainly not be spending that much!). The 'multi way' dresses are Two Birds, they are gorgeous, and probably available for a lot less on Ebay also. I have a friend who bought her wedding and bridesmaid dresses for ?30 - ?50 each on Ebay, and they were absolutely stunning, so amazing dresses can be bought without spending a ridiculous amount.

Where are you based? As I have the same issue with bridesmaids, so am getting mine made, I'm based in London, and we are paying £20 a dress to be made in Tooting Market, south West London, and getting the material from the market there, about £4 a meter so each dress will turn out at about £25-30 each. Its the same design but obviously will be altered depending on the girl.

BHS do multiway dresses in a few colours too - I am not sure how much they cost though, as they didn't have the colour I wanted.

I just found a local dress maker. Bought patterns and material myself and paid to have them made & fitted- she did them in her own home and we all went together to have fittings. I can't remember how much she charged, but getting the fabric etc myself definitely made it cheaper.

Based in Southampton but London not impossible. I think I will look into local dressmakers as well! Thank you for the suggestion.
