Am I, as the hen expected to pay for stuff for everyone? We are doing a drinks nibbles thing which I've got all the food and alcohol for but then later out for dinner then on to dance somewhere. Can I expect for everyone to pay their own way? Maybe I should pay for taxis as well? I'm nervous im going to suddenly find hundreds of pounds more!

I would expect to pay my own way on a hen night. I've never heard of it all being paid for by the bride to be.

At my sisters hen do, everyone (including the hen) chipped in (though my mum and I subsidised it abit) - we did a bring a dish/booze picnic, followed by a craft session then drinks and games in a private room in a pub with buffet. See if you can get an idea of dinner costs (fixed price meal/bottles of wine and club price) to give everyone an idea of what it might cost up front.

Thank you for replies, it's not actually being organised by me but I just wondered if someone was going to get a big bill at some point! But it sounds like everyone pays for themselves, I've been on a few hen weekends where I paid but I didn't know if people expected something else for just a day. My big day is looming everything's making me worried!

It's traditional that the hen doesnt pay for anything herself I think.
