Wedding invite website

Hey ladies :-)
I am thinking I could design a website for info on my wedding as an alternative to paper invitations.
Would this be something you would consider/have considered for your weddings?
What are the pros and cons?
Thinking it would be loads cheaper and I've designed websites before so it wouldn't look too shoddy.
Just want to hear opinions of other brides!

We did it - free site called gettingmarried.co.uk or something like that.

Worked well for us. Had to send 5/6 paper invitations for people without email but just bought a pack of standard cards from paperchase for those.

Helped us keep track of rsvps and dietary requirements and was useful for giving people details of local hotels etc. Saved lots of money too.

But we did have to send a couple of reminder emails because people don't tend to file emails efficiently and unlike a paper invite you can't stick it on the fridge or mantelpiece!

Worked for us, anyway.

That's true. And we really aren't 'showy' people. I thought just a couple of pages (location/times, menu, RSVP, registry details, suggest a song etc) but I agree about the cringe factor. Food for thought. Thanks :-)

Thanks for your reply Citizen. I'll take a look at the sites suggested.

We are using gettingmarried.co.uk, although more for info than anything else. I didn't want everyone calling us asking for hotels, travel arrangements etc so it is all on the website (password protected and can disable cringy pages). They can RSVP on the website as well but we did send out invites. We liked that we would not have lots of RSVP paper acceptances cluttering up the house and that can get lost; we have everything stored online!

We used gettingmarried.co.uk, because we are really disorganised, and it meant that we could add details, such as what the food options were, after the invitations were sent out!

Also, it meant we could include lots of information about travel (a lot of people coming from outside London, and not familiar with the tube) without sending out a book instead of an invitation.
