planning a hen night.

I have been set the task of planning a hen night/weekend. The bride is the sporty type and enjoys most things outdoorsy. Most of the people coming are also sporty. A couple aren't but would try things. About 8 - 10 people. She doesn't drink or particularly enjoy pubs. She hates clubs and dancing. Strippers are a no no.

I thought Go Ape kind of thing but she's scared of heights. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Not sports-related but I'll tell you my favourite hen do game.

Get everyone to buy the hen a small present for no more than £5. It can be a joke present, it doesn't have to be nice. (Weetabix and malt loaf have featured).

The hen unwraps and guesses which present is from which of her friends.

Go-karting?

Clay pigeon shooting?

Sea fishing?

Hiking up a scenic hill/mountain

Kayaking on a lake?

Thanks for the ideas. Love the present game idea and I think kayaking might suit her.

What about:

Paintballing
Tank driving
Canoeing (we did this in Wye valley last summer)
Zorbing
Horse riding
Segway riding
Doing an assult course
Mountain biking
dance class
cheerleading
archery

My friend has done one where the organisers made up a treasure hunt and it was a race and the hens divided into two teams to complete the race. I think there were some fun challenges along the way etc. That also didn't cost anything if you are looking for a budget idea, just took some time and imagination and planning.

For mine we went to the races at Newmarket with a nice picnic on the Saturday, had a spa hotel overnight, then clay pigeon shooting & pub lunch on the Sunday.
