Buying Wedding dresses off ebay from China?

Has anyone done it? Any experiences?

I know someone who bought a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses and another person who bought a Prom dress.

All were crap and a waste of money. I heard the rants from them both.

The prom dress one in particular was an eye opener, as the delivery time was something silly like 2 months it was too late for my friend to open a dispute on e-bay / pay-pal. And then the seller changed their name and blocked my friend so she couldn't give feedback.

One of my bridesmaids' dresses is from China via eBay. It came quickly, is beautiful and really nicely made. The size is a little on the neat side, but luckily it still fits. I'm really pleased with it, as is my bridesmaid. But I've heard some horror stories too.

is it blue by any chance?

There is a website called dressilyme which is the only one I have found with good reviews. Lots of people seem to get replicas made of expensive dresses. I'm considering it myself as I want a dress that is quite 'weddingy' but can't afford £1000!

I did, it cost about £170 custom made including shipping. I had quite a lot of adjustments done when it got here- I had the sides taken in (had measured around the widest part of myself and it was really big on the bum) I had the straps shortened and a button and loop put on the train so I could hook it up and had it steamed and put in a bag so it was an extra £95 on top. But it still cost less than £300 instead of the minimum of £800 it would have cost here. It was made in less than 3 weeks and shipping took 4 days. Search JJshouse.

Sorry you said eBay- I did look at eBay but something made me not take the risk. I knew someone who had used those and was happy with the dresses.
