what can I buy for the bride as a little gift

My sister is getting married next week (so anything that takes a while to get, ie personalised, is out) and I would like to get her a little something, something thoughtful and inexpensive. Inexpensive for 2 reasons, I don't have much cash and she has specifically said no gifts! But as a little background for you, our Mum won't be at the wedding because she died 9 years ago and I know she will miss her on the day, so i'd like to get her something that perhaps Mum would have got, but not exactly what Mum would've got because i'm not her mum, does that make sense? When I got married Mum gave me a garter, which I have passed on to my sister, and she also gave me one of those horseshoe things you get from eg Clintons (IYSWIM)

I really can't think of anything suitable so thought I'd ask on here to see if any of you have any inspiration!

DH's great aunt gave me a beautiful silver bird pin cushion and some bridal pins - ok, so I didn't actually use any on the day, but it was a lovely gift

Can you think of anything that might help her get ready on the day, which your mum might have helped with?

thanks teaandhobnobs, I can't really think of anything. When i've spoken to her about things she always sounds like she's thought of everything

The only thing I did think was maybe a teeny broch (not sure that's spelt right? of a horseshoe or something else for good luck, that she can put inside her dress or in her bouquet maybe. Or the other thing a friends husband to be bought for her to wear was a locket bracelet with a picture of her mum and dad in, which was lovely. I could perhaps do that, although it wouldn't be cheap necessarily.

i should add the reason i haven't just gone with the bracelt idea is i'm not 100% sure my sister would like it or want to wear it on the day.

Perhaps a little locket she could attach to something not on show too much?

Locket sounds lovely if you can't fin that how about a tiny blue charm so she can use it as her 'something blue'

but yes yes yes to the link to the brouquet pins (don't you just love pinterest?!) they are exactly what i was thinking for the horseshoe thing, my sis is going for a vintage type theme on a lot of things so would 'fit' well.

I was thinking a locket with mum's picture - if she doesn't want to wear it she can attach it to her bouquet.

I wear a ring with my grandmother's birth stone in it, maybe something with your mum's birthstone.

Or a clip on charm - she can clip it on flowers, her dress, or even her garter (if she has one) Amazon has them from about £2 - £lots of money
