Bridal cape/cloak - chavvy?

DP and I are planning to get married next christmas. I'd quite like a burgundy, floor length bridal cloak and think it would do well to cover my not unsubstantial bulgy bits. Would it be okay, or would I look like something from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding?

I would have thought, depending on the shade of burgundy, that there was more risk that you'd look like Santa. But I am imagining something with a fluffy white edge to the hood, which may not be what you had in mind?

I did think Santa Blush but no, there would be no white fur trim

Sounds lovely to me :)

I had an ivory one and loved it Smile

Are you planning to wear an ivory, floor-length wedding dress underneath the cape? I would have thought that a cape in ivory would be better than a contrasting colour, tbh. SIL got married in a royal blue cape, and she did look a bit like ... little blue riding hood Blush

I hadn't even thought of an ivory one... Would solve the Santa issue nicely! Thanks ladies Grin
