Whats the cheapest way to get married?

Would love to get married in a church but cant see that happening as we have literally no money

We could have got married for £43 as that's how much the register office cost us. As it happens we did more than that, but that's how cheaply you can do it!

I had a registry office wedding and a reception in a pub where we paid for two buffets. I had one bridesmaid, the best men and ushers wore their own black suits. I know a florist who did a great job with the flowers for £150ish, my friends paid for the dj, and we just had a welcome drink of cava which we paid for. Had my dress made for £500 as was 5 months pregnant! MIL paid for dh's suit. The sun shone and we had a great day. All for £1500 and I wouldn't change a thing

Try your local methodist church. A friend of mine used them (mainly because she is RC and divorced) and they were really helpful.

She was completely skint when she got married, her wedding ring is silver as they could not afford gold.

Reception was at her house - everyone was asked to bring a bottle, most people bought 6 or 12.

Registry office is £43 plus the legal that is £67 i think so £110. You can buy a Gold band for £30 ish. My ring will be silver as that what I wear most of and prob cost no more then £30 my partners band is stainless I think and was £40 ish. To be honest you could make Viking style rings matching for very little

To be honest £110 for the legal is minimal and ask every one to come celbrate with you after for a meal. Dont ask for present just ask that they all pay for there meal and drinks.

A wedding is about a marriage forming not a big dress rings and paying for every one else to eat in my opinion.

Registry office! That's what we did, just closest family/bestest friends then a party afterwards. Its the marriage that counts, not how you do it. You don't have to do anything you dont want to. I have to say, Church weddings are a complete rip off and unless you want the photos from a church its no different to registry office, you get the same bit of paper :) and you can just drive to a church after and pretend you got married there.....noone would ever know :)

Ok, so it was nearly 35 years ago, but the fees for our church wedding were only £17, and we had to get an extra banns certificate.

That was for the church, vicar and verger. We had the service said, and didn't have any music.

If you really want a church wedding, talk to your vicar. All you need is you, your oh and 2 witnesses.
