GETTING MARRIED FOR THE SECOND TIME ON A SHOESTRING!

The countdown has begun.....we are getting married in 8 weeks! DH to be has never been married, although engaged a couple of times. I got married young and it failed dramatically! However I am delighted to be getting married. We have a lot of children and now our own little man 5mo. So it's the icing on the cake. Originally when we got engaged we were going to have an enormous wedding mainly because we have so many children....10 in total! However monetarywise we are struggling as DH's business lost a massive contract and I took my eye off ball in my own business while having the baby, so for 6 months little income. It's all turning around now but my life has taught me to sieze the day. It seems very wastful to spend 10-20k on a wedding to me now, even if I did have it. I just want to marry the man I love. However I want to make it special, especially for him. As this is the first and if all goes to plan the last wedding he'll have Wink.....The church is booked, with flowers and organist which my parents are giving to us as a wedding gift (total surpriise to me as they never used to believe in 2nd marriages), I'm thrilled they have changed their mind. DH's dad passed away 10 years ago, he is estranged from his mum, so he has no back up, just me! we have managed to get a great deal on sit down dinner and drinks at 5* hotel. and a over night stay. We're only having 10 inc ourselves to the wedding. We are not inviting the children. This is the controvercial bit. We are also not inviting out brothers and sisters. Just my parents, DH's step mum and a handful of closest friends....I'm actually looking forwad to a day that's just ours, without having to play mum permanently. I am making my dress (haen't started yet) and the flowers i thought I'd get some roses from tesco finest on the day and hand tie them with silk, as florist was quoting a fortune. I could probably even make the cake....have i missed anything oh yes rings we are having ultra cheap ones about £50 each....no cars, think im driving my DH's M3 to the wedding myself! No photographer, everyone is on strict instruction to take plenty and upload to snapfish. Have any of you done a similar thing? I really want it special without the expence, so top tips would be most appreciative? I am evern going to have my great aunts pearls restrung as my something old (inherited and just sat in box for 8 years)
