Ideas for a lovely hen weekend please

Am feeling uninspired. Lots of friends have done the whole nice-house-in-the-country-somewhere thing, with spa-type stuff and then night out on the town, but rather fancy something different, perhaps sitting and swimming outside in a country with good food and good weather (will be April or May next year).

Any ideas? We are all 40-something, so I'm thinking sophisticated rather than silly. Thanks Smile

You should be able to get a nice apartment or villa with a pool for a reasonable cost at that time of year. I was looking at a long weekend away with some girlfriends at a similar time next year and searched google for apartments with pools in Barcelona as it is a great place for nightlife and culture and you get away from the younger drunken crowds. Will have a quick look for you....

Something like this maybe

That looks lovely, Angry Feet, although I have been to Spain a few times before, and seen Barcelona previously. Wondered if anyone had had good experiences in Eastern Europe e.g. Dubrovnki, Bratislava etc?

What do your friends want to do? Easter falls early in April next year, if you are going to do anything aim for May, more so of you are going to travel abroad it will be cheaper. There's a bank holiday Monday on 7th May, you'd get a long weekend... lots to look at on the night, I'm surprised TBH

lots to look at on the WEB (don't know why I typed night)

thanks dontwotzme, don't think that anyone else has any decided ideas. Was hoping to avoid long weekends, as might not be popular with DC / partners...

And there's too much on the web! Was hoping to get some more personal thoughts and recommendations.

We went out for a meal and then on to a bar, not very exciting, but you need to make a list of things you feel comfortable with. I really think too much is made of it.
