Just planning our wedding and wondering how long the ceremony lasts at a registry office. I need to know so I can book the reception venue and say when we'll be there.

Thanks

about 15 minutes iirc.
No frills, no poems, no reading that bit from winnie the pooh or captain correlli, just in, bit of blurb, do you? do you? sign the register then ooot the door for photos.

add a bit for photos if your reg office has a photo place.
and getting everyone heading in the right direction for the reception.

What tigana said. We are getting married at a Registry office and they have said to allow 15/20 minutes but have said that if we want a reading/poem etc then we can do one as long as it does not include anything religious.

We've been told 20mins depending on readings (so I'd allow 30).

About 30 mins but you need to arrive 15 mins early to do all the offical stuff. Checking details and all that.
