I've seen a couple of companies that offer this service, but wondered if anyone had any personal recommendations, and what is good about your own website?

Not sure what you mean exactly? A general wedding wbsite? What service is it that they offer?

Like an online invitation? Or for after the wedding, with photos?

yeah, what rinabean means; lots of websites offering "janeanddave@getting married.com" style websites where you can do all your planning and can send out invitations, add travel and accommodation details etc. Think that you rent the domain name, for, say, a year.

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations

go to webeden.co.uk

you can set up a free website from al the templates they have.

it's really easy to use, and you can make it look really nice!

this was ours - it hasn't been added to since the day, but it might have been by the time you look at it Grin
