Help! Nearly 100 children....

if we invite our 120 friends. We have a DC too, and I was happily planning a child-friendly wedding, but now can't imagine ho we'll cope / what we'll do with them.

Has anyone done anything they'd recommend, or had any really good ideas? Really don't want to ban children from coming, but the numbers are horrendous....

Thanks JMHPG; we were thinking of something along the lines you mention, but in the country instead.

Don't think that it not being in town should stop it from working?

I wouldn't even have older children at the evening do though - banish all except babes in arms, I was thinking (will hire some sort of on-site creche for those who object to babysitters)

Oh no, I don't think it not being in town would stop it working at all! It was just very easy, is all :)

We limited kids to family only, which meant we had 4 of them, instead of 30-ish. Our ceremony venue had a maximum seating of 80, so there was no way 30 of them were going to be taken up by kids who didn't want to be there!!

I didn't have child bridesmaids either. Just my best friend as MOH.

It's your day, do it however works best for you. Loads of people say no to kids at weddings cause of the cost etc these days and it's perfectly acceptable.

Oh, we did invite the kids to the evening reception, but the parents actually seemed pleased to get the day/night off and only a handful came :)
