marrying again...!

hi there...

just wanted to get some opinions from you all...

hubby and i got married 2 yrs ago abroad with just our parents present...

until now i havent changed my name(down to my lazy side)...is this unreasonable? i would like the baby to have hubby's name as would i...!

i dont think our marriage was legal...hence the reason i'd like to do it all again...just a simple civil wedding here with our close friends and family...and then dinner in a nice restaurant!

im currently 25wks preggers and was looking to planning the ceremony for about 6wks time...

would you do the same?

What makes you think your marriage wasn't legal?

on the marriage cert is states that i was living in that country when im actually a british citizen...

i dont know if that had to be done for us to get married there...!

If you are prepared to say which country it was in, someone on here may be able to give you more information.

i wouldn't change my name, though.
Once you've found out whether your marriage is legal (I hope someone can help with that), you need to sit down together and work out what you both want to do regarding surnmes - your child can have any surname - it doesn't even have to be the same as either of you!
You could double-barrell it, or merge it to make a new surname, or choose a completely new one if you want to.
Just because you're married doesn't mean you have to change your name (you're allowed to if you want to, but you don't have to)

It sounds like you don't really want your DH's name - if you did, then I don't think laziness would prevent you - even if it's just making sure that people call you Mrs DHname - if you really wanted it, you would have done it by now.
