OYBK - big snow next week?

OYBK, can I pick your brains. The 18z run is showing epic snow for next week - possible 35/40 cm accumulations across the midlands etc..

What do you think the chances are of this coming off?

TIA!

I'd like to know OYBBK's views on this too! I've looked at some weather forums and they're talking either major mahoosive snow amounts or torrential rain!

I like this www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php?&ech=6&mode=2 site, this chart is for risk of snow.

I found it linked to on one of the weather forums I go on, and it's been pretty spot on.

If it is right, we've got a pretty snowy week ahead.

moonmother · 19/02/2010 09:41

The main weather forum I go on, is also warning of quitepotential for heavy snow tomorrow for the M4 corridor, right the way from Southern Wales right across to E Anglia.

is anyone else here a netweatherer?!

I am! I enjoy comparing netweather along with others, to see who's 'right' when it comes to the weather. But I also quite enjoy trying to work out the arguments between the posters on the forums on netweather. I'm getting the impression though (perhaps because the winter weather conditions are changing so quickly), that the discussions are going round and round in circles over what's going to happen next week!

PeachyPeachyEverPreachy · 19/02/2010 19:41

Well we have every manner of prediction going.

BBC and the LocalGossip (lol) says snow tomorrow,we're off out so ahve been looking for back up but none found

met checkand met office say big snow Monday, netweather says 24%

Was heavy yesterday but only dregs of ice left now

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/02/2010 07:40

hi guys, sorry didn't spot this. hope you managed to find my weather thread I have going.

Starting another one in a mo.

OhFuck · 21/02/2010 07:48

You guys might like this website. It's usually spot on - more so than our own forecasts!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/02/2010 07:55

what does that link to OF? - I don't recognise the url.

OhFuck · 21/02/2010 07:56

The Norwegian version of the met office!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/02/2010 07:57

ah, norway where the weather is possibly more predictable at this time of year than are own.

OhFuck · 21/02/2010 07:59

Yes ... I'm in Scotland and have found their site to be surprisingly accurate. I can't say whether that's the case further South though. Just thought it might be of interest

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/02/2010 08:02

It is thank you. Sorry, I'm not very awake yet. I'll have a proper explore later. (I misunderstood and thought you were just pointing out norways snow1)

OhFuck · 21/02/2010 08:03

LOL!

sockmonkey · 21/02/2010 08:22

We have quite a covering of snow this morning... and it's still really coming down. (in east midlands here)
Will the boys be at school tomorrow? (fingers crossed for a snow day)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/02/2010 11:52

I dunno sockmonkey, they keep changing the risk area for tomorrow!
