been snow on the ground since about 17th December.

I cannot remember another Winter when the snow was around for so long (mind you I have only stayed here since 1988 and lived mostly in Africa before then )

You have my upmost sympathy , we still have a few mounds of frozen dirty ice dotted around but things are now back to 'normal' here since 17th Dec too.
Our rubbish even got collected this week!!!!

I am sticking my fingers in my ears and closing my eyes to the odd flakes fluttering now!

Wallace · 29/01/2010 20:14

Ach well. I suppose sledging is good fun...

Excellent!! Sledging is fab for fitness (as long as you don't break anything)

We still have snow piles (small now) in school and shop carparks. Tis quite fascinating.

mawbroon · 29/01/2010 20:34

Careful in the snow Wallace!!

Wallace · 29/01/2010 20:38

Oh dear, Mawbroon - sympathies!

I went running this week for the first time in ages (usually don't use snow as an excuse but had been under the weather too) and it was fun but fairly treacherous as some of the snow is pure ice, some is hard packed, and some is still a good 6 inches deep and soft with an icey crust!

Kitten, while you're here - is it going to stay windy all weekend? Would like to go skiing but not if very windy. I think we come under East Highlands?

Gosh yes, you've had it even worse than us down there I think. (We've met up when I was under another name (TM), which is why I know where you are...)

Ours had only just almost gone after the rain and here it is all starting again. Only a little overnight but DH says it's snowing now.

Hey ho, I hate the snow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/01/2010 22:38

Wallace, tomorrow looks calmer, Sunday windy again and I wouldn't do it then.

aha Gaelic you can pass it down here if you like. I've restocked on salt and food!

Wallace · 30/01/2010 06:06

Thanks, kitten. Got a rotten cold now anywy

hi, gaelic! I had been wondering who you were. Another meet up sometime? Have you been to the new softplay next to the swimming pool in A?

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/01/2010 07:58

for you.

gaelicsheep · 31/01/2010 20:45

Hi Wallace. Yes, another meet up would be good. I didn't know there was a new soft play down there. Have you tried the one near me yet? That's pretty good too. BTW, in a few months I'll have more time on my hands for meet ups as I'll be off on maternity leave...

Wallace · 01/02/2010 18:27

Congratulations! When are you due?

Which soft play near you...?

gaelicsheep · 01/02/2010 21:50

Thanks! Due in June. It's the one in town near Tesco - DS loves it. I'll CAT you.
