Poor DD1 has been stuck with only our tiny gravelled back garden snow as she has ahd the pox, now she is better we were forecast 10cm, but nothing!
She needs snow, the poor girl, anyone in Southwales got a decent drift we can steal

Blimey PeachyI wouldnt even attempt it tbh! Our school will probably close, DS1 goes to a school in Brynna though and as we are in the valley they wont be expecting us to make the journey the way it is at the moment!

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 12/01/2010 19:08

My DS3? Wow you remember well!

yees, they beat the snow, but I am not sending him tomorrowI think- localkidsmight be able to walk but Celtic roundabout plus bad road conditions is s no-no in my book.

Julezboo · 12/01/2010 19:11

Off subject slightly but is there any ever meetups in this area?

DuelingFanjo · 12/01/2010 19:15

I left work in Cardiff at 5.30 and it was snowing. My work mate's husband had called in demanding to know why on earth we'd not been sent home and people were driving really slowly as if the weather was really really bad but it's not!

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 12/01/2010 19:21

Depends on what you're driving eprhaps,Dh'ssmart car was lethal at cardiff gate a few hours ago, i'venever known him scared by snow before.

We need a meet up don't we? Dont know how many in Pembroke though (though we're out there for aweek at Whitsun if you want.... my Grandad comes from out there). I was thinking earlier we needto have a picnic or something in the spring.

Julezboo · 12/01/2010 19:23

deffinately, I lost my job in Nov and I am slowly going mad!!

MissRabbitLovesHerJobs · 12/01/2010 19:23

Sorry! But bear in mind DD's school won't allow her back until next week so I wasn't thinking of school closing.
Pretty impressive snowstorm though, wasn't/isn't it

Julezboo · 12/01/2010 19:26

MissRabbit - I'm between the two LOL! So either is good for me.

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 12/01/2010 19:31

Swansea is do-able for me with plenty of notice.

Snow still coming here, I suspect we may not be able to get our boys from MIL's tomorrow!

differentID · 12/01/2010 20:37

is that a for them or a ?

Julezboo · 12/01/2010 20:44

oh they'll love it, eat all the sweets they want, stay up late pretty much do what they like but also means lie in for us!

SixtyFootDoll · 12/01/2010 22:03

Was very unerving driving home at 5pm, narly lost it a ffew times.
Will be walking to work tomorrow me thinks

Julezboo · 13/01/2010 08:34

8 - 10 inches by me, seen a few snow ploughs go by since 6am this morning and DH has left for work.

I am home alone though, I didnt want to risk me driving in it (very nervous driver) to get the boys, DH said if the roads seem better by lunch he will go get them so we can play in the snow!

It is still snowing/sleeting here too.

VinaigretteRien · 13/01/2010 08:37

Saw thread title and thought you had gone mad! Thank goodness this is from Monday...

Yes, we have snow. When can we give it back?

lostinwales · 13/01/2010 08:57

Can you send you snow west to me, after about 12hours snow we have NOTHING! Sea level sucks.

Well up for a meet up though (when it defrosts of course) You should all come for a picinc on my lovely beach

VinaigretteRien · 13/01/2010 09:25

We're in Caaaardiff, deffo sea level here but it's really thick.

Believe me, you can have it! I'm fed up with the disruption now.

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 13/01/2010 09:28

I am enjoying it, though not the fact schoolwaited until 8.30 to decide to closewhen the need was obvious.

Sowing again in Caerleon BTW

VinaigretteRien · 13/01/2010 09:33

And here.

Schools closed.

Fed up.

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 13/01/2010 09:37

I am glad schoolclosed as the road wasunpassable but I didn'tfancy eprsuading the SNU to let ds3 have the day off. but I amaware that we'reboth home today so V lucky (DH's Uni in Pontypridd also closed).

JackBauer · 13/01/2010 09:40

Where are you lost? There is a meet up thread here for Swansea ish area....

lostinwales · 13/01/2010 10:53

I think I live in a bizarre weather bubble here, I can go to the beach and look up the river and see a perfect horse shoe of green and then nothing but snow beyond, something to do with sticking out into warm sea currents and the river valley I think?

MrsBadger · 13/01/2010 12:05

PIL were due gas yesterday but tanker didn;t make it

they now have total whiteout

[quiver]

PeachyWillNeverVoteBNP · 13/01/2010 12:31

Mrs B where are they?

I know that here, although tis very bad today, the snow is eroding the ice build up that has amdeevery pavement so treacherous lately,so it may be that tomorrow the situation has improved a hundred fold.
