Oooooh a weather topic.... OYBBK could you predict this weekend in NW/Midlands please?

Because my folks are supposed to be looking after kids while DH and I have a long awaited night off in a hotel.

They're supposed to be driving from Manchester, not very far, to us in N Staffs, but we're all worried about being snowed/iced in.

Is it still all too unpredictable to say?

I'm going the other way Wilf - up to Lancaster to take ds2 back to university. Trying to decide whether Sat or Sun would be best.

Have a thread going for weather resources will put more on tomorrow but am shattered tonight - snow clearing and sledging!!

you may well see some snow tomorrow. I think the bulk will just be to the east of Manchester, just perhaps some showers around Staffs/ Saturday you'll be ok I reckon. Sunday, not sure. Models are not agreeing on the northern extent of the snow. You may get the edge of it.
