What does autumn 2027 look like?

After a (very brief) google, the internet seems to be saying we are probably going to see a stormier autumn, starting earlier than usual, because of the warm Atlantic current. Any of our resident weather experts want to weigh in on this? After enduring this ridiculous heat I am hoping for some decent wet weather.

genuinely though - would be interested in hearing what our weather experts say. I saw a fuckin dust devil two days ago, I am supposed to be in the washed out uk!!

Autumn 2027 will have even more El Niño elements than the forthcoming Autumn 2026. I expect.

If Burnham is still leader the frequency of ‘Mind How You Go’ / ‘Four Legs Good, Barbecues Bad’ alerts might have increased.

Scotland, N Ireland, S England and parts inbetween will continue to have contrasting seasons.

That would be an extremely long range forecast. Lol.

This year I think mostly mild, wet & windy Oct/Nov and early winter probably the same. But wouldn’t be surprised if Sept continued as the last few months just cooler than now.

El Niña is the thing we need to look for dominating the end of this year and next years weather.

Around here they can’t get the forecast right for the next 24 hours, I’m not sure they’d manage 18 months

Oh ffs obviously I MEANT autumn 2026. I am addled by heat, and have also had wine. I will not comment further 😁

2027? Well predictions for El Niňo next year are that it’s going to be intense, with many extremes. So my prediction is that it’s going to be bloody terrible

This horror wasn’t forecast. So I don’t think there’s much point asking really. Everyone’s speculating at this point.

Following, I love a weather thread.

My rather tongue in cheek idea for Autumn 27 is that given the expected strong El Niño effect on N Hemisphere winter 26 into 27 there will still be a significant lag effect before La Niña. Go on ask about Autumn 28.

My guess for Autumn 2026 is ‘Indian Summer’ for the first half of September and a couple of memorable named storms in October/November. But who knows?
