Don't know if it's just because of weather or the times we live in but according to Google maps. Shops bars and pubs are quiet l. Is it normal

Yes.

Very common if it's yellow and above. I'm about to pop into town and I am hoping it is going to be much less busy.

I hate going out in poor weather but DH will go out in anything, he does a lot of long distance events though that generally go on whatever the weather.

Not sure as our big Tesco was HEAVING! Seemed like people were having a browse as a way to get out of the house but mostly avoid the bad weather. We’re in the amber rain warning area.

Octavia64 · 14/11/2025 17:27

Yeah I’ve deliberately not gone out today.

MyPithyCat · 15/11/2025 13:08

What's it like today. Is it what you expected. All will be back to normal and busy next week don't you think

If it’s cold numbers will be down

but the build up to Christmas will counter that to some extent

Most places, although retail parks & shopping centres will be packed.

MyPithyCat · 15/11/2025 21:31

Google Maps show that the pubs (normally packed on a weekend) are less busy than usual. I guess it's because of the weather
